HELL CAT II - SECOND FLIGHT - NO GO
2018-10-13 17:15:00ZDescription
This rocket will fly again in Bunnell, after a great flight at SRA. Same configuration and experimental nose cone. Motor will be a K454-19 Skidmark, hoping that the field is not to dry.
Update 09/16/2018 - Cleaned and waxed the rocket to make it 'as' new again. Made already the charges like, Main: 1.8 gram - 2.2 gram backup / Drogue: 1.8 gram - 2.2 gram backup. Chutes will be the same: 65" main and 24" drogue.
Update 09/17/2018 - Fixed my RTX rocket item, just a reset/defaults settings with 'program' button (see manual). Still no word for a make up launch day from Greg.
Update 09/18/2018 - According Bernie the field is soggy and to wet to fly, and more rain to come. The Cleggs will probably not let us go on the field. So my guess, no Launch this coming weekend. Will keep my eyes open for updated.
Update 10/11/2018 - We have a launch day set. We had Hurricane Michael coming over in the close neighborhood CAT 5, so hoping that the field is dry and ready by Saturday. Made the charges already before, load the charge in the lower, drogue, compartment, folded the chutes and applied dag-barf. Also made the Z-ties upper and lower chock cord. Used two O-rings on each side of the motor. It will be my K454 SK that I will be using. Just waiting on a last update today, this evening, So far no word of cancellation.
Update 10/12/2018 - Allloaded in Car. Installed all the charges. Installed the K454 SK motor also. Gave the Stratologgers an extra test, ready to go !
Update 10/12/2018 - LAUNCH DAY - NO GO for me - There was a Skidmark ban, because the field was wet with standing water at places, but the grass was really dry !!! So I bought a 3 grain J295 W from Bernie ! Loaded that in the rocket, and start prepping the bay's with RTX and radio and phone. Radio performed excellent this time !! Running slightly warm but no issue !! But the RTX tracker started to act up this time, Had issues before and thought it was all fixed but no, the hand unit started to reboot over and over a few times with no GPS fix !!! It had the battery from the rocket unit but no GPS coordinates showed up. So I gave up just right there, enough with the trouble, not again, just enjoying the rest of the day with, Tim, Clayton, Chris, Greg and others, just helpingout that day and lots of pictures taking !!! great day despite no launch for me ! Not even feel sorry this time. next time better. Locking for GPS alternatives now, might go with Whistle again, was very good... but RTX needs to be fixed also !!! Deal !! See you in November !

Sucks that you didn't get to launch.
Well, I like to hang around and see other launches, and taking pictures. So I had fun that day....

Well you better make that flight unsuccessful or something because that gives you more altitude/impulse than you really have - haha!
I did not input the actual altitude Tim, so nothing ads on, I hope..
