WM jr 2stage flite 2.csvDescription
This was the 2nd flight for the WM Jr. Made minor changes to timing, increased ISC charge from 0.3 grams to 0.5 grams and added a little baby powder to ISC. Decreased time for 2nd stage ingnition. ISC appeared to separate as designed this launch. It was a perfect flight. Recovery needs modification. Booster came in ballistic until chute release opened at 400 feet. No damage to chute but the chute released didn't like that shock and all the electronics came apart & were never to be seen again.
The Booster landed about 50' north of flight line on east end of field. The Sustainer landed about 1500' north east of field.
This launch was also presented to NEFAR club as a J impulse record attempt which it sucessfully set new record although it was an easy altitude to reach.

Excellent excellent flight! It looked like the pyro for separation worked out perfect, is that correct?
You're just working out the details now.
Looks like it worked as designed. Definately separated before sustainer ignition. Don't have any altimeter data in Booster, just the timer for separtion & deployment. No room. Now just need to slow it down on recovery, maybe add drogue or streamer. Not sure if I showed you this but the photo below is all that remains of my Chute release :(
Did the electronics 'just' fell out of the casing then ??
Tim, to add a photo to a comment, click the Add Images button & upload the image, then make sure to either checkmark the SHOW IMAGE GALLERY, or click on the insert/edit image button (next to the smile face) at the top of the text edit window and choose the image you just uploaded. By doing the latter, you embed the image right in your text on its own line.
Freddy I think what happened was the booster was falling pretty fast (no drogue) and when the chute release opened up the main, there was a pretty good jolt going from free fall to 20fps and the only thing I can think of is it caused the chute release to open up it's guts. My guess anyhow.
This little protector would have kept it all safe (maybe)!
