Making this rocket ready for a third flight with the next nose cone and RTX assembly. Will probably only go like 3000 feet, it will fly on a 1 grain motor. Also stability test and spin control corrected. Very excited about the outcome of this flight. If all goes well then next launch will be in Tifton, GA - Turkey launch event. Did some taping on the fins, like 1 X 1" tape and 1 X 0.5" tape to reduce the spin. - on each fin that is.
Update 07/06/2017 - Prepping the rocket, made charges and folded both parachutes. I will be using a 36" parachute with spill hole, Might come down fast. It's actually a balloon parachute. A bit delayed with the balloon flight we had a few days ago. But wanna launch this rocket as a test for Tifton in November this year.
Update 07/07/2017 - Drilled sheer pin holes in the nose cone section, forgot about the when switching to the new nose cone. Also installed the 1 grain motor, doubled the O rings also and put grease all over. There seems to be some play when I slided in the motor, but that might not affect the burn... Screwed all in snug.
Update 07/08/2017 - Launch Day - Very hot and Humidday, sweating as a pig.. Dripping really dripping. Eric, Jason and Tim were all there. Nice small bunch of flyers. No crowd. Rocket prepping went smooth. Got the RTX in the nose cone and the crews were no hassle to install also the Iphone was a breeze. Got it all closed up en off to pad # 14 ! Rocket flew great had a bit of a heavy nose so over stable situation but not so noticeable... Landed in the watering sprinkler pipes wheels just a few feet away from the road/ditch. All good no so damage !
