Description
This is the same situation and Rocket from an earlier prep. Launch did nor happen last month, had wrong weather information. Weather seems to look great for Saturdays launch.
Update 01/18/2023 - Rocket is fully prepped, made also a smaller cover for the RTX, will test it all again and start charging all the camera's, video camera's etc.. There will be a streamer in the rocket and also the RTX will be in the upper bay.
Update 01/19/2023 - Pictures are the same as the previous month NO GO album. Charging all camera's and Iphone that will be inside the AvBay continues recording.
Update 01/20/2023 - Car loaded, all charged, Platform in car for smaller rockets. Have gazebo and chairfor Florence with me. Forecast says that it will be cloudy and possible rain in the late afternoon.
Update 01/21/2023 - LAUNCH DAY - Cool day, morning temperature a bit cold as we left the house, but arriving at the field it was already 71 F... A bit of a low turnout, but some collage kids. Gary did not launch, he was extremely busy with collage kids and their Level 1 attempt. Prepping went smooth, GPS in the upper bay rolled in the chute protector. one Gopro camera in the booster with the streamer. But no video of this camera. Iphone was recording all the time, not on the Insane app. but complete video from prepping to recovery. The funny thing is that the rocket took off straight but halfway the flightpathit started to corkscrew pretty bad. I guess the reason is that that rocket needs a fast motor. Fins are smaller than the rocket's diameter, Will check the previous video's andpictures how that went. Florence took a bunch of pictures again, Thanks my dear !! Also bought some more motors from Bernie, his health situations seems to be not quite good and he has some procedure in February, Hope he survives. I hope he keeps motivated to come to the launches. I also jump started his truck, it has a battery issue. He gave me a great deal on those motors, Planning to buy more next time, just in case he does not show up anymore. Will keep checking on him. Also have good video from Iphone and the Ground GoPro camera. Also it seems that the main Stratologger did NOT beep out on the main chute/deploy charge. Will check and fix that. Florence has a great time sitting in the gazebo and chair. The sky was actually for 90 % cloudy, some sun came out in the afternoon but went fast. We left around 2 PM. We had rain when we drove back home and temperatures dropped fast. Have video from Iphone, Onboard Gopro and GoPro ground.
Update 01/22/2023 - Found the culprit whythe main did not fire, the connection on the top must of came loose. Will check again before another launch ! Also cleaned the 3 grain casing. Was not that dirty. All good.
Update 01/23/2023 - Uploaded the RTX data files, Google Earth seems not to show the exact location on the maps. Deleted all the RTX datafiles so I have a clean start next flight.
