Main came out shortly after apogee and it drifted about 1/2 mile. Post-flight inspection of the chute release revealed a broken rubber band.
Yes, those rubber bands go fast.

Maybe charges did it, do you wrap the chute and release in the chute protector ??

This one uses a piston. My current theory is that it was pressed too tightly against the wall of the parachute compartment and tore when the chute was getting pushed out.
