Jupiter 2
Description
Scale model 1/48 of the Lot in Space 1960s TV series Jupiter 2. Scratch built from balsa and card stock with the upper hull coated in very thin fiber glass. Top will come off to deploy two 16" parachutes. Landing legs are made to retract but the mechanism to keep them retracted in flight and extend at parachute deployment didn't work well, so I fly it with legs extended. Flown on a D motor but now modified for a composite F to get more height. At some point I would like to upscale to an H and include lighting.
