Interceptor-J
Description
Upscale version of the classic Estes Interceptor with 38mm motor mount. Tubes were fiberglassed for strength. Nose was custom built using plexiglass. Tailcone is fitted with allen screws to remove easily and change batteries for the LED light unit (designed for RC aircraft). The model is fitted with standard position lights, strobe, landing lights, and anti-collision beacon. Custom paint job with airbrush to get a space cammo look. USAF decals sporting a Cape Canaveral Tail flash, 45th Space wing patch and Tail number matching my NAR number. Yes my name is under the cockpit and I really was a USAF pilot. I also put two "UFO kills" on the nose along with noseart "Stretchin Gretchen" (my better half). Many of the other decals were custom made to simulate real aircraft markings. Currently both chutes are crossform. There is a video camera mount and I will upload here when I get time.

I absolutely love this upscale!!!! Great job - I can't wait to see it fly again.

After a minor mishap at NSL I have repaired it and reworked the E Bay for more reliable main chute ejection. Soon as I clear a few other projects off the workbench I will get it out to NEFAR for another flight!
