Fire Rocket II
Description
Rocket was a spin-off of a rocket that I built for the 100 yr anniversary of the Latham Fire Department in 2010 (see Sport Rocketry magazine Sep./Oct. 2011 for article). It was neat to design and build and watching it lift-off is even better enjoyment. The rocket is made up of a plastic fire hydrant for a nose cone and the body tubes are covered to resemble the old riveted fire hose with brass couplings and a smooth bore nozzle were the motor is located. Three square fins with through the wall construction complete the rocket.
