Just for clarification, the CTI motors have a double groove on aft- and forward closure, I install those 'spare' O-rings from used motors in there, so everything fits really tight and prevent CATO's... It's slides in kind of difficult in the casing, but I use extra motor grease on those O-rings..

Did that second set of o-rings come with the motor?
Just for further clarification - the CTI 54mm 6 grain XL have been known to Cato. There is a smaller o-ring on these motors (kind of like a seal disc). That is the failure mode. Whether or not the extra oring does any good in an "unknown" in my book. Although I did not experience a cato, I did experience a failed o-ring. Once that burns thru, your case is crap. The 2nd oring Freddy adds would not have prevented this failure. Look closely at the photos. Case is bulged & small oring failed!

Thanks for clarifying. I saved the o-rings from my last 54mm motor and was thinking about doing the same thing when I stumbled across this pic.
