I was lucky enough to get the first coat of auto primer on yesterday before it got cold. More 400 grit sanding since as I am still not happy with smoothness of nose section. Hoping only one more coat of primer and call it a day.

If you notice where the nose section and airframe section of mold meet this is rough. That's fine. The airframe secton still needs to be built up using tape to match the thickness of nose.

Note: Normally I use Kilz for ease of sanding. The reason I chose auto-primer is the fact that this is a mold. I need it to be tough so I doesn't pull off sections of the mold when I release the finished part from the mold.

Looks really nice how that nose cone came together and the finish priming job. It's the excitement of a new beginning, I bet that your next rocket will be a two stage rocket going past 100K after your successful flight of the moose !

Thanks smiley-laughing.gif It's certainly a process and I have a new tiny blister from sanding to prove it - lol

All I want to do is start glassing!!! However, I know the better I make the mold, the less work it will be in the end. The mold will also be more reusable.
