HELL CAT II - TWELFTH FLIGHT -

I skipped a few launches mainly due to weather conditions, This rocket has been prepped and ready now for a month so yes this one will fly. Weather conditions are looking fairly great. Using a drogue and a 60" main. Also the RTX is fixed and will also use two GoPro camera's taped together for this flight. There is room enough now since I use a tiny drogue.

Update 10/12/2022 - Stratologgers tested, all good. Rocket is already prepped.

Update 10/13/2022 - Planning to put another 50" chute in the booster with the chute release to test this setup for FAR/Grizzly.

Update 10/14/2022 - RTX tested and working, all other charging, Camera's, GoPros, chute release, phones etc. Cargo box loaded.

Update 10/15/2022 - LAUNCH DAY - Long drive again - Cargo box fully packed, needs more organizing like storage boxes. But that Cargo box is doing a great job for long road trips for sure. We had some rain before Melbourne but that cleared out once we getting closer to the field. Open clear skies with some dark cloud up North, but that seems to blow away and did not enter the field. Prepping was a breeze, took a long time before the RTX got a fix !!! Had both GoPro camera's taped on the shock cord, and the RTX holder, antenna outside the airframe. Also activated the chute release for the smaller main (in the booster) as a test. Florence took a lot of pictures again, felt nice being in the camera ! haha. Once I got an RTX fix I finished prepping the rocket, closed it all up and stormed to the pad, D1... Loaded the rocket and activated the Stratologgers, beeping out ok. Installed the ignitor, checked the continuity...ok. Tim was on pad D2 with Lumpy (lovely nice fat rocket). Skies were still open with a few clouds. Nothing to worry about. I was the first to launch, rocket was in a small angle due to some heavy winds like around 15 mph at times. Angle to the NE. Rocket took the friendly skies with a breeze... Drogue popped out and later the main and after that the second main (36") with the chute release. All worked fine !!! Will use this extra main setup again to keep testing that chute release dingy. Rocket landed in the field behind the SRO. But oh boy, recovery was not easy, The rocket was not far in that field but walking in that hip high grass was really difficult !! Could hardly move one foot before the other, It seems like that grass was struggling around�my legs.. !! I did not even know where I was walking in, water or dirt or so Could hardly feel the bottom.� Hard to keep my balance also. Got everything gathered together, packed up and struggled back to the road. Was glad to be back walking on solid ground. The rest of the day was taking pictures of other flights... We left around 2.15 PM. Gary, Tim and David were also there. The Nexus had a great video, RTX was working fine, The shock cord camera's had I full launch recording, the second GoPro stopped recording. Still have to download the stills from those video's. The Ground GoPro, well my fault, it recorded some small video's but not an actual launch. Reason: The flashcard was full from a previous launch, dam that I never cleaned that�one up !! I did see a message in the camera window, but it was way to bright to read it !!! Also when home I noticed that one of the main charges did not fired !!!! Have to inspect it fully before the next flight !! Stratologger ? or connections ? or ignitor ??? Bought a 4 grain motor from Bernie before heading home for the next Launch of one of my bigger heavier rockets... Prices went slightly up again.

Update 10/24/2022 - Tested the two 4" sleds with stratologgers with lights. And indeed found the sled that I used last month for this flight and the back up wire - back Up/main was broken. I will repair this with solder and a shrink tubing.
