Prepping this rocket for another flight on a 4 grain motor. Av Bay is modified and also the Iphone sled. Made a window in the rocket also, So now all my 3" rockets have a 'window' for the Iphone camera. Still have to polish and wax the upper bay, was repainted after cutting the window.
Stratologgers are tested out and work great ! Lights responded correctly
Parachutes are folded and Charges also made. Rocket is completely waxed and ready to go.
06/11/2016 - Launch Day ! Beautiful hot day, temperatures in the 92's. Moderate winds that picked up in the afternoon. No lines and not crowded, just perfect. Jeff Millner did a successful flight for his L3 ! Great flight.
The Red Heat flew great, altitude as predicted, nice Red flame ! But still rotation, try to fix that with Jason's advice.. Had some difficulties getting the Av Bay closed, took everything out again, and re-positioned the Iphone and it closed up nicely !
Recovery was a bit far out, angle was 3 degrees into the East winds. Happy with the flight for sure !
