Insane Rocketry

Likefileicon Liberator M1315 03APR.csv

Description

Same configuration as L3 certification flight.  Excellent launch, aside from the rocket being whipped off the launch rail and sent off at a bad angle.  Wish there was a shorter 1515 available for this one!  As a result of the rail whip, it landed in trees and was recovered via extension pole.  No damage.  Figures acquired from barometric data.

Was the rail in bad shape - lots of corrosion?

The rail itself was satisfactory (I brought out WD-40 and some paper towels to wipe it down), but it was much too long for a fast launching rocket.
