Preparing Hellcat for a minimal flight, this rocket has been to 9000 feet already and just want to launch it on a cheaper motor for now, nothing special, just fun. Looking at the Skidmark and the White Long-burnand see what Bernie or Tom have. The white Thunder looks also interesting, just concerned about the take off speeds if there is any winds that might affect that launch. Seems that a lot of 3 grain motors are under 44 ft/sec take off speed so there are only 3 choices ! No Skidmark, dam !
Did change the parachute out in a 50" size chute.
Tested the stratologgers out, both are working fine, I just have to Zip-tie the two batteries so they are seated tight! Looking forward to a smooth launch and recovery day.
All prepped and checked, all systems are GO !
Update 12/10/2016 - Launch day, very windy like 10 -15 mph, was helping everybody so I was the last person to launch on high power that day, around 3 PM. Also my TAG was not charged !! So O borrowed Eric his TAG and Jason his phone for video and data capture !! All went great, the J motor performed great, was concerned about the low take off speed at 44 f/s, but it took off great on Jason his launch rail - 12 feet !!! Recovery was nearby close o the barn. All went well !! Lots of fun with Eric his Elf on the rocket !!
