Decided to bring this rocket out for the August 20 launch. Have lots of projects around me, so I only can concentrate on this rocket right now. The other rocket needs more work. I will take care of those in the next few weeks.
Update 08/18/2022 - Prepped the rocket, will not take the cargo box and probably not put the phone in there. Also, I�will not use the streamer but a small drogue chute. Loaded the motor. Connected all the charges. All chutes are present. Z-ties made, cute protector and dog barf in place. Charging the camera's now and the RTX devices. Sheer pins�in nose cone. Still have to check the sled and the stratologgers.
Update 08/19/2022 - Loaded most of it in the car. Stratologgers tested = OK. Hope to get a good altitude out of this flight. Will get a 4 grain motor from Bernie for the next Merlin flight. Everything is charging now.
Update 08/20/2022 - LAUNCH DAY - Had it all loaded in the rocket, two GoPro camera's side by side on the shock cord. RTX taped and secured also, but no signal, RTX rocket unit did not fire up, pretty death, battery was all charged fully but the unit did not respond, will send it back. The weather was great in the morning, super low winds and open skies, clouds started to roll in around 2 PM, Gary was there waiting to launch his two stage but I left when it started to rain, so I really don't know what happened after 2 PM.
