NEFAR
Description
Welcome to NEFAR!
Who are we? NEFAR is a group of dedicated rocketeers who have organized to make good launch opportunities available to ourselves and other responsible flyers. NEFAR is is affiliated with the National Association of Rocketry (Section #563) and Tripoli Rocketry Association (TRA Prefect #35).
Who can attend? All interested rocketeers, their families, and any other rocketry-friendly responsible persons are welcomed. You don't have to be a member to attend a NEFAR launch or fly your rockets there. (You DO need appropriate NAR or TRA certification to fly high-power rockets. Flying low-power and mid-power rockets does not require certification.)
What do we do? We hold low, mid, and high power rocket launches.
When? Our launches are on the second Saturday of each month, with two-day launches (Saturday and Sunday) in April and November. Launches usually start about 10:00am and close at 3:00pm in the winter, 5:00pm in the summer.
Where? See the Launch Site page for details.
Why? Because it's fun! Exciting! It is also highly educational, recreational, and a great way to meet smart people.
How do I get started? Come to a launch! Or if you prefer, contact the webmaster or one of the NEFAR officers to discuss your rocketry interests, and how NEFAR might facilitate your rocketry plans. We adhere to strict rules of safety and legality, and require that our guest flyers do likewise. Following the rules allows us to launch large and exciting rockets to high altitudes.
